BGSU Hockey Set for Final Exhibition Against USNDTP in Plymouth, Mich.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (15-10-4, CCHA 11-7-4) will finish exhibition play for the 2024-25 season against the USNDTP in Plymouth, Mich. This will mark the first time in program history that the Falcons have competed against the US National Under-18 Team.

  • The USNDTP is coming off the Five Nations Tournament in Ängelholm, Sweden
  • In the Five Nations tournament, the U-18 team went 3-1-0 with wins against Finland, Switzerland, and Czechia
  • BGSU will be the 17th NCAA opponent for the USNDTP team, and they hold a 2-14-0 record against NCAA teams
  • Cole McKinney leads the team in assists and points  with 22 and 36, respectively
  • Will Moore and Richard Gallant are tied for the lead in goals with 18

Falcon Facts

  • The Falcons have six players that hail from the state of Michigan that will be playing in their home state, notably senior Christian Stoever's hometown is less than five miles from Plymouth, Mich.
  • BGSU has had five alumni that have represented the United States in international competition including Ken Morrow and Mark Wells, who were members of the 1980 Miracle on Ice team
  • The Orange and Brown are currently on a bye week from CCHA competition, but enter the weekend in third place in the standings
  • As announced by the CCHA on Wednesday, Bowling Green had 21 players named to the CCHA All-Academic Team and 13 to the CCHA Scholar-Athlete Team
  • Bowling Green will  start the first of three games away from Slater Family Ice Arena before returning at the end of February to close out the regular season
