BGSU Tennis Starts Spring Break Trip Strong with Win Over Saginaw Valley State
Melbourne Beach, Fla. – The Bowling Green Falcon Tennis team started their spring break training trip with a 5-2 win over Saginaw Valley State Cardinals. The Falcons won the doubles point for the second straight match.
The Falcons started off winning the doubles point. Tia Clemens and Isabella Baker won No.1 doubles by a score of 6-4 and Leticia Fonseca and Lucia Gaio won 6-1 in No.3 doubles.
In singles, Qianyu Liu won No.2 singles in straight sets by a score of 6-2, 6-1 to extend their lead to 2-0. The Cardinals won at No. 4 and No.6 singles to tie the match at 2-2 before the Falcons won the final three matches at No. 1, No.5 and No.2 singles. Lucia Gaio clinched the match for the Falcons at No.5 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
