BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will kickoff the 2025-26 season Monday night (Nov. 3) inside the Stroh Center, hosting Texas State for a 7 p.m. tip. The game will mark the first of three-straight home games for the Falcons to open the season, also hosting Bethany College on Nov. 6 and Le Moyne on Nov. 9. The game against Texas State will be part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge, now entering its third season. BGSU is 2-0 at home during the challenge and 2-2 overall. The game between the Falcons and Bobcats will be available to stream on ESPN+ with a radio feed from Todd Walker on WFRO Eagle 99.

Opening Tip
The Falcons will open the season against Texas State as part of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. Since the challenge began in 2023-24, BGSU has a record of 2-2 in such games, including a 2-0 record when hosting Sun Belt opponents during the challenge. Bowling Green enters the third season under head coach Todd Simon. During his time with the Orange and Brown, BGSU has posted a record of 34-32. The Falcons will open the season with three-straight home games, the most since 1998-99 while also returning six players that saw the court for BGSU during the 2024-25 season.  

At The Game
The theme for the game will be Western Night at the Stroh Center, including themed in-game promotions. Additionally, it will be Pudge's Birthday Party at the Stroh Center, including a Pudge Meet and Greet, birthday cake and singing Happy Birthday to the festive feline. There will also be a Falcon Hour with select beer available for $4, 12 oz. soda and popcorn available for $2. Falcon Hour will span from when the doors to the Stroh open at 6 p.m. until tip-off and will be available at all open concession stands.

BGSU is currently offering a 2 for $10 deal, where fans can purchase two GA tickets for $10. The offer ends at tip-off of the game. 

Parking Changes For 2025-26
Additional Limited Mobility Parking Now Available for All Home Basketball Games
To better accommodate fans and guests with limited mobility, additional designated parking spaces will now be available for all upcoming home Men's and Women's Basketball games at the Stroh Center.
Location:
Additional parking will be located on the north side of Lot 24, beginning with the first row of spaces adjacent to the grass area and including the next two rows directly behind it. 
Fan Access:
Guests utilizing these spaces should enter through the Student Entrance, located on the north side of Lot 24. From there, fans may use the service elevator to access the main arena and seating areas.
Please Note:
Limited mobility parking will remain paid parking and will be clearly marked with signage indicating the designated spaces and new location.

A Bowling Green Win Would…

• Give the Falcons a 1-0 start to the season for the first time since 2023-24.
• Grant Bowling Green a home opener win for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. 
• Go down as the first win over Texas State in program history, giving the Falcons wins against 268 different opponents in program history.
• Keep the Orange and Brown undefeated at home during the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge at 3-0 while advancing them to 3-2 overall during the challenge. 

Scouting The Bobcats
Texas State was a .500 team a season ago in 2024-25, going 16-16 on the season while being 9-9 within the Sun Belt. As for the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge, Texas State topped Eastern Michigan, 64-44, to start the season at home. However, they lost to Central Michigan on the road during the second leg in an 85-70 final. They also faced Ohio in a neutral site game with a 74-65 win. As for this season, the Bobcats bested Huston-Tillotson, 102-52, in an exhibition on Oct. 26. 

BGSU vs. Texas State, All-Time
The Falcons and Bobcats will be meeting for the first time in program history, marking the 327th unique opponent for the Falcons. While Texas State is the first new team to join the list this year, BGSU added six teams to the list last season, including MAC-Sun Belt Challenge opponents Southern Miss and Coastal Carolina. This will mark the fifth game in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge for BGSU. Overall, the Falcons are 2-2 in the challenge with wins over Arkansas State in 2023-24 and Coastal Carolina last year. 

Home Sweet Home
Bowling Green will open the season with three straight home games, as well as being home in four of their first five. The three-game homestand to start the season will be the longest since opening the 1998-99 campaign with three straight, hosting Northern Iowa, Detroit and UIC.  Since the Stroh Center opened in 2011, the Falcons hold a record of 134-84 (.615) at home. As for the Coach Simon Era, the Falcons are 20-13 (.606) when playing at home.

Give Campbell A Hand… Or Two
Last season, Javontae Campbell broke the program's single-season record for steals in a season with 90, finishing tied for fifth in MAC history and fourth in the nation for the season. Campbell did so with injuries to both hands the back half of the season. Now, Campbell is one of six Falcons to return that saw action last season for BGSU and is coming off MAC All-Defensive and All-MAC Third Team selections. Entering the season, Campbell is 58 steals away from cracking the program's Top 10 for career steals. The record is held by now BGSU assistant coach Anthony Stacey with 226 from 1996-2000. 

The Resident Veteran
Sam Towns will enter his fourth season with the Falcons, the longest-tenured player on the team. In the age of the transfer portal, Towns is the first player to spend four years on BGSU's roster since Isaac Elsasser and Chandler Turner (2019-23). Over his BGSU career, Towns has appeared in 52 games with 30 starts. Last year, he averaged 6.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game through the first six games of the season before his year was cut short due to injury. He tallied double-digit rebounds in each of the first two games of the 2024-25 season as well with 10 against Southern Miss and 11 against Davidson. 

Falcons Reload Roster
This year, the Falcons will roster a total of 17 players with 10 of those 17 being new to the program this season. While this will be the third-straight season with 10 newcomers for BGSU, the increase in roster size from last year's 15 improves the percentage of returners for BGSU. For the 10 newcomers, five come from D-I or D-II, two from JUCO and three will be listed as true freshmen.

Campbell Earns Preseason All-MAC
Entering the 2025-26 season, Javontae Campbell was named among the MAC's Preseason All-MAC teams, being one of 10 players in total named. Campbell was listed as a Preseason All-MAC First Team selection alongside Akron's Tavari Johnson, Kent State's Delrecco Gillespie, Miami (OH)'s Peter Suder and Ohio's Jackson Paveletzke. Campbell is coming off an All-MAC Third Team selection, aiding in the continuation of BGSU's streak of 24 consecutive seasons with at least one All-MAC selection.
