Increasing Student Engagement in Large Lecture Classes

    In this session, you will practice active learning techniques that can be implemented in a large lecture course, where students may get lost in the crowd or rely on passive learning. Through demonstration and reflection, you will put yourselves in your students’ shoes, engaging with these strategies and considering how you may implement them in your course.Why you should attend:Define the challenges students face when enrolled in large lecture courses. Apply active learning strategies to foster student-instructor and student-student engagement. Reflect on your own teaching practices to identify opportunities for incorporating active learning in large lecture classes.
