Tonal Eclipse A Cappellooza

    The Tonal Eclipse A Cappellooza is the second a cappella invitational at Bowling Green State University. It will be a night filled with pop a cappella music performed by many groups from BGSU and other colleges from the Midwest. Admission to this event is free, and there will be opportunities to donate or participate in a fundraiser held during the show. Laney Mitchell Benji Chang, soloistBIOSTonal Eclipse - Bowling Green State University Tonal Eclipse is Bowling Green State University's premier competitive mixed a cappella group, founded in the fall of 2011. They regularly look to perform their repertoire of songs at a variety of events at BGSU, the surrounding community, and at ICCAs. After winning best arrangement for two consecutive years and winning best choreography at the Midwest Quarterfinals, Tonal cannot wait for another busy and exciting year! Like all of the groups on campus, Tonal encompasses a wide variety of majors and courses of study, and places value in celebrating the multitude of musical backgrounds that exist among their members. They place a great emphasis on solidifying bonds between each other and with members of the other musical organizations on campus. Tonal Eclipse is proud to host the second ever Acappellooza here at BGSU and we thank you all so much for being here! Give it up for Tonal Eclipse!Retrograde - Bowling Green State University Retrograde is a competitive mixed A Cappella group comprised of 20 members. They were founded in 2021. Their members are very excited for a busy year full of amazing music. This is Retrograde's second year competing and they're very excited to share some music with everyone today. Let's hear it for Retrograde A Cappella!On a Side Note - Indiana University Indianapolis On A Side Note (OASN) is IU Indianapolis’ only student-run a cappella group, bringing together a diverse community of students with a shared love for music. Founded in 2016, OASN is known for energetic performances and a repertoire that spans pop, ballads, and beyond. Over the years, they’ve taken the stage at ICCA, Regatta on the Canal, and numerous campus and community events. With every performance, OASN showcases the power of collaboration, creativity, and the unique voices that make their group one-of-a-kind.The Parallels - Ball State University The Parallels are a dynamic soprano/alto group from Ball State University, who are incredibly excited to perform for you tonight! Established in 2015, this group is proudly celebrating its massive 10-year anniversary this season! Known for their strong commitment to Pop and R&B, The Parallels take pride in their musical flexibility and commitment to service, and you’ll often find them performing for community groups and local nonprofits. They showcase their work by traveling for various performances across the Midwest and beyond. You’ll know you’ve spotted them when you see their signature blue shoes and equally iconic personalities! This is an especially exciting year for The Parallels. After opening the show at NACC in Orlando in 2024, they are thrilled to be returning to the national stage for the second time!Vocaholics - University of Cincinnati The UC Vocaholics is a high-energy a cappella group at the University of Cincinnati, uniting students from all fields with a shared passion for music. Established in 2014, the group is known for bold performances, dynamic harmonies, and creative musical storytelling. Over the years they have been awarded Outstanding Arrangement, Outstanding Soloist, Outstanding Vocal Percussion, and Outstanding Choreography. Last year, they placed first at the Midwest ICCA quarterfinals. They hope you enjoy their performance!Ten40! - Bowling Green State University Ten40 Acappella is the premier tenor-bass a cappella group at Bowling Green State University. Celebrating their 15th anniversary this year, They have been performing as an independent group since 2010. Although known for their performances within the "pop" and rock genres, they also sing in a variety of other styles, such as folk, barbershop, hip hop, country, and traditional choral music. The group prides itself in friendship, musicality, and entertainment. Ten40! regularly performs for service and charity events on campus and in the community. Each year, Ten40 competes in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), where it has won several individual and group awards over the past ten years. Ten40 also goes on a spring tour each year, spreading the joy of singing to schools and communities throughout Ohio and the Midwest.Acouschicks - Bowling Green State University Founded in 2015, AcousChicks a Cappella is the only all-treble a cappella group on BGSU’s Campus. They perform at ICCAs every year, notably advancing to semifinals in 2023, placing 3rd in their Midwest quarterfinal in 2024, winning best choreography in their quarterfinal in 2024, and placing 4th at their quarterfinal in 2025. Their music spreads far beyond the ICCAs stage, however, and they perform at a multitude of events on campus and in the Bowling Green community. Their members major in a variety of subjects, from STEM to social work, from business analytics to music education, and everything in between. These geese are ready to take flight this year with a new logo and 8 new members. They are excited to be here at Acappellooza and cannot wait to share their setlist with you! Give a big round of applause to the AcousChicks!Unexpected Resolution - Ball State University Unexpected Resolution is a tenor-bass a cappella group from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana! Commonly known as the “Guys In Green Ties”, they sing a variety of genres ranging from pop, rock, funk, and more! The group is currently in their 11th year as an organization and are so excited to be back for the Tonal Eclipse’s 2nd Acappellooza! Right now UNR is working on their 2nd studio album which is set to be released fall of 2026! In the meantime, you can listen to UNRs most recent project "An Unexpected EP Vol. 2" which you can find on all streaming platforms along with their music video of "Levels" by Nick Jonas.
