BGSU Opens the Brittney Emmons Era on Sunday at Eastern Michigan

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green gymnastics team opens its 2025 season on the road in a key MAC competition at Eastern Michigan. The meet will start at 1 p.m. at the Gervin GameAbove Center.

IN THE RANKINGS
• Eastern Michigan finished the 2024 season No. 50 in the Road to Nationals rankings, which includes No. 44 on beam, No. 46 on bars, No. 54 on vault and No. 58 on floor.
• Bowling Green finished the 2024 season No. 57 in the Road to Nationals rankings, which includes No. 55 on vault, No. 56 on bars, No. 57 on beam and No. 59 on floor.
ALL-TIME SERIES
• BGSU is 29-28 all-time against EMU. BGSU's last win was the meeting in 2022, a 194.875-190.175 win at Anderson Arena. The win snapped a four-meet winning streak for EMU.
EASTERN MICHIGAN
• Sunday is EMU's season-opening meet. The Eagles finished sixth at the 2024 MAC Championship.
• BGSU assistant coach Hannah Hartung is a former gymnast for EMU where she graduated in 2023.
BOWLING GREEN
• Sunday is the first meet of the Brittney Emmons era. She was named the fourth head coach in BGSU era in August 2024 after spending five seasons at William & Mary where she was the ECAC Assistant Coach of the Year.
• Junior Megan Bingham and sophomore Love Akpan were named preseason MAC Gymnasts to watch.
• BGSU returns 18 gymnasts from the 2024 squad.
• BGSU is opening on the road for the ninth time over the last 10 season.
