BGSU Volleyball Celebrates 2023 Team Awards
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – In case you missed it, the Bowling Green State University volleyball team announced their team awards at the conclusion of the 2023 season. The team presents these seven awards annually, each based on the program's core values. The awards are voted on by members of the team for which teammate best exemplifies each core value. Each core value and the corresponding description is listed below.
During the 2023 season, the Falcons advanced to the MAC Championship for the fifth consecutive season, the longest streak since Ohio went to eight straight from 2003-10. In doing so, BGSU became the first six seed to make the MAC Championship since 2018. At the conclusion of the regular season, Lauryn Hovey was named All-MAC First Team while Kat Mandly earned All-MAC Second Team. Hovey added an AVCA Northeast All-Region honor to her accolades while the Falcons landed nine on the Academic All-MAC team.

- BGVB Earns AVCA Team Academic Award For 25th Consecutive YearLEXINGTON, Ky. – For the 25th consecutive year and 26th total year, the Bowling Green State University volleyball program has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT. To qualify, teams must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher. Additionally, the Falcons earned the Honor Roll distinction as part of the top 20-percent of team GPAs in Division I, a recognition only 47 teams received.
- Falcons Complete 2025 Volleyball Roster With Additions Of Bozic, HobsonBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball program and head coach Alex DelPiombo announced the signings of Anastasija Bozic and Avery Hobson on Monday morning (July 14). Bozic, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, will come to the Falcons as a freshman from Panzevo, Serbia. Hobson, a 6-foot-1 junior outside hitter, will arrive in Bowling Green from Duquesne.
- BGSU Athletics Partners with Vet Tix to Provide Complimentary Tickets to Veterans, Military Personnel, First Responders and Their FamiliesBOWLING GREEN, Ohio— Bowling Green State University Athletics has announced a new partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and 1st Tix, offering complimentary tickets to Falcon Football, Volleyball, Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Basketball and Gymnastics home events during the 2025-26 season.
- Bowling Green Volleyball Completes 2025 Schedule With Non-Conference SlateBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team has announced the non-conference schedule for the 2025 season, unveiling the slate of matches on Thursday morning (June 26). Tickets for the entirety of the 2025 season, both season and single-game, are on-sale and available for purchase. The Falcons have led the MAC in attendance each of the last two seasons and have been in the top two in average attendance for seven straight seasons, excluding the COVID year.
- Single-Game Tickets Now On-Sale For 2025 BGSU Volleyball SeasonBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University ticket office announced that single-game tickets for the 2025 volleyball season are now on-sale. The Falcons previously released the 2025 MAC schedule on April 1 and season tickets on April 18. The full schedule for the 2025 season will be released at a later date. Bowling Green is coming off a 2024 season that resulted in a MAC Championship and NIVC Runner-Up finish. The 2025 season will mark the first in the Alex DelPiombo Era of BGVB.
- Jessica Andrews One Of 10 NCAA Student-Athletes Selected To Participate In VNLBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University middle blocker Jessica Andrews has been selected to represent Canada in this year's Volleyball Nations League. Andrews is one of 10 NCAA student-athletes picked to play in the VNL this year, joining two players from Pitt and one from each of Charlotte, Florida, Illinois, Miami (FL), Oregon, Texas A&M and Washington State. In total, 18 countries are represented with 30-player rosters, creating a pool of just 540 athletes selected to participate. A vast majority of the athletes selected consist of current professional players. Andrews is the first Falcon and believed to be the first MAC player selected to compete.
