BGSU Women’s Golf Returns to Action at Western Michigan’s Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Women's Golf Team will travel to Rio Verde, Ariz., for Western Michigan's Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 21-23. The tournament will be hosted at the Rio Verde Country Club on the White Wing Golf course, a par 72, 6,001-yard course. The shotgun start is scheduled for 12 pm MST.
Last Time Out
- BGSU recorded the highest as the host school in a tournament since the Black Dolores Falcon Invitational on April 9-10, 2022, when the Falcons finished first out of 11 teams
- The Orange and Brown were the highest finisher from the Mid-American Conference, edging out Northern Illinois by one stroke
- Sophomore Sammie Dolce jumped eight spots in the final round to finish fourth, shooting a 69 (-2) to tie a career low round
- Freshman Macie Elzinga finished in 10th place for the highest finish of her BGSU career.
Notables
- For the Falcons this will be the second consecutive tournament that they have played in the Grand Canyon State.
- BGSU will be competing in the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational for the fourth consecutive spring season
- The Orange and Brown will be one of six Mid-American Conference schools competing in the event with the others being : Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Ohio, and Western Michigan
