Before a player is permitted to play in the first game, the following must be completed and on record with the Senior League Commissioner:Set up an online DASH account for Slater Family Ice ArenaPay in full onlineSigned Conduct and League Rules Agreement formIdentification verified (repeated each game at check-in)USA hockey confirmed (online in DASH account)Fees$160 per player$80 per goalieDivisionsPlayers must sign up for a division based on their skill level.Recreational Adult Development Division (RADD) - For players who are at the B-/C/D skill level. This league allows for more experienced players to assist with the pace of the game and help new players gain experience.Skilled Adult Division (SAD) - for more skilled players with past hockey experience in the A/B+ adult hockey level. League management has the final authority to place players into these divisions.SchedulesThe spring season will run from March 10- April 24, 2025.Games will be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.Game times will be scheduled at 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m. (and 11 p.m. as needed)Days and times are subject to change based on the number of teams in each league.RostersRosters may have up to 15 players, including goalies. League officials reserve the right to add players to any team with less than 15 players. Players are only allowed to play for one team. There is a limit of five (5) ACHA players from the 2022-23 season on a roster, regardless of the team/school they played for.Game Layout3-minute pre-game warm-up.Three periods, 15 minutes each, running time. The clock will stop to enter penalties. The clock will stop with less than 2 minutes in the third period if the score is within two goals.If time is still left on the curfew clock and the game is tied, there will be a 3-man shootout, followed by a sudden death shootout as long as there is time left on the game curfew clock. All players must shoot once before any player shoots twice.If the game is tied with no time left on the curfew clock, the game will end in a tie.Time-Outs: Each team is allowed one 1-minute time-out per game. There are no time-outs during an overtime period.RulesModified USA hockey rules apply, with the following exceptions:No Body checkingNo SlapshotsUnintentional slapshots will result in a stoppage of play and the faceoff being taken in the offending team's defensive zone.Intentional slapshots or reoccurring offenses by one player will result in a minor penalty.Slap shots occur when a player’s stick comes above the knees while winding up shooting the puck.All slapshot calls are determined at the referee's discretion.

Are you interested in stargazing and looking at celestial objects through telescopes? Come check out the Department of Physics & Astronomy rooftop observatory during public stargazing sessions. The rooftop observatory includes a 0.5-meter research grade telescope as well as smaller “amateur astronomer” telescopes, which you will be able to look through. You will also learn how to find major constellations and any planets currently visible.Stargazes take place on the roof of the Physical Sciences Laboratory Building. The roof can be accessed by taking the elevator to the roof (press the “R” button in the elevator). Signs in the hallway will help direct you to the elevator. Do not use the stairs to go to the roof. The “R” button on the elevator will be unlocked at the start time of the stargaze session. If you arrive before it is unlocked, please wait on the first floor for the session to begin. It is recommended that you dress warmly. The roof is usually colder and windier than the ground.While on the roof for a stargaze, please refrain from talking on your cell phone so that you do not interrupt others or stop them from hearing what is being discussed. The use of phones for flash free pictures or astronomy apps is allowed. Please do not use the light on your phone though since dark adaptation is important for viewing the nighttime sky.Astronomical objects can only be seen when the sky is totally or mostly clear, therefore stargaze cannot be held unless the weather is clear. If it is snowing, raining, foggy, cloudy, or even partly cloudy there will be no stargaze session that night. If you aren’t sure if the conditions will permit a stargaze session, you can call (419) 372-8831 for a recorded message telling whether the sessions will be held or canceled that night. The message is set one hour before the scheduled start of the session. If you call earlier than one hour before the start time you may receive an incorrect message.When you arrive at the roof and exit the elevator, you will be greeted by one of the stargaze personnel and directed to the various stations you can visit. If you are attending the stargaze for a general visit (rather than as part of an astronomy course), please let the greeter know.In addition to the listed stargazing sessions, weather permitting, there may also be an opportunity for stargazing following evening Planetarium shows.Happy Stargazing!
