Formerly the Freddie and Frieda 5K, this fan-favorite event now honors legendary Falcon and Olympic gold medalist Dave Wottle ‘73, who captured the world’s attention with his iconic 800-meter victory in 1972.The 5K kicks off at the Alumni Gateway and winds through campus, finishing near McDonald Hall – just steps from the BiG Breakfast at The Oaks. Whether you're chasing a new personal record or enjoying a fun walk with family, runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome.Stick around after the race for the 100-meter Kids Dash, perfect for our youngest Falcons!Registration opens in early June. BGSU supporters come together each year for camaraderie and friendly competition at the Falcon Golf Classic near Cleveland.Play 18 holes of golf at the Westwood Country Club in Rocky River, Ohio.Spend time with friends new and old.Enjoy lunch and a dinner buffet while bragging (or commiserating) about your golf game.Raise scholarship funds.All proceeds from the Falcon Golf Classic support Cleveland-area students who have been named Thompson Working Families Scholarship recipients.
