Falcons Conclude Season In Doubleheader Action Against Ball State Friday
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team wrapped up the 2026 season Friday (May 15) with a doubleheader at Ball State. The Falcons jumped out to 2-0 leads in both games and nearly completed a comeback in the first game of the day with a ninth inning score. However, Ball State managed to hold on for both contests, taking the first in a 6-5 final and the second 10-2. Over the two games, the Falcons utilized 24 different players, including seven seniors. The two games marked the conclusion of BGSU's season with the regular season coming to a close.
Mottice’s Four-Hit Day Paces Falcons In Series Opener At Ball State
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team began the weekend series against Ball State on Thursday (May 14) with a back-and-forth contest. BSU scored first, but the Falcons battled back with two runs in the fifth for a 2-1 lead. The Cardinals answered in the bottom half to reclaim their advantage. A similar sequence followed in the seventh with the Falcons knotting it up only for Ball State to again find a response and reclaim the edge, leading to a 6-3 final. The result secured the final spot in the MAC Tournament for Ball State, ending Bowling Green's bid for the postseason.
DiLodovico, Takats Lead Falcons At Fifth Third Field
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team returned to the home of the Toledo Mud Hens Tuesday night (May 12) for the sixth annual Fifth Third Field game as part of baseball's Battle of I-75 presented by Fremont Federal Credit Union. The Falcons were able to jump out to a 3-0 lead after scoring three in the second, but the Rockets responded in the third to take the lead and held on to it from there, leading to a 15-5 final in eight innings. BGSU now shifts to the regular season finale with a MAC Tournament bid still in play, beginning a three-game series against Ball State on Thursday (May 14).
Falcons Set Sights On Ball State With MAC Tournament Berth Within Reach
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team will wrap up the regular season this week with four games on deck. The week for the Falcons will start with a non-conference game on Tuesday (May 12), hosting the sixth annual Fifth Third Field game against Toledo. The game is set for a 7 p.m. first pitch with pregame festivities preceding the event. From there, Bowling Green will turn to the regular season finale against Ball State, needing a sweep and a UMass loss to Central Michigan to clinch a spot in the MAC Tournament. The series against Ball State will begin on Thursday (May 14) with a 3 p.m. first pitch. Ethan Stade Earns MAC Pitcher Of The Week Honor For Third Time This Season
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Player and Pitcher of the Week Monday afternoon (May 11). Of those named, Ethan Stade earned the Co-Pitcher of the Week honor, named alongside Central Michigan's Hayden Bailey. This marks the fourth weekly honor of Stade's BGSU career after being named the MAC Pitcher of the Week on March 9 and April 20 on top of being the MAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week on April 9.
