NPHC was founded in 1930 at Howard University in Washington, D.C., with the purpose of fostering unity and cooperation among its member organizations and advocating for the interests of Black college students. Formerly the Freddie and Frieda 5K, this fan-favorite event now honors legendary Falcon and Olympic gold medalist Dave Wottle ‘73, who captured the world’s attention with his iconic 800-meter victory in 1972.The 5K kicks off at the Alumni Gateway and winds through campus, finishing near McDonald Hall – just steps from the BiG Breakfast at The Oaks. Whether you're chasing a new personal record or enjoying a fun walk with family, runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome.Stick around after the race for the 100-meter Kids Dash, perfect for our youngest Falcons!Registration opens in early June.
