- Oct 74:00 PMUncovering Ohio’s Hidden History of HateExplore Ohio’s Untold History Ohio is often celebrated as a center of the Underground Railroad and home to leading 19th-century abolitionists, but its history of racism and organized hate has rarely been studied in depth. Join historian Dr. Michael Brooks, Department of History, BGSU, as he sheds light on this overlooked part of Ohio’s past.About the Book Brooks’ book, A History of Hate in Ohio: Then and Now (Trillium, 2021), coauthored with political scientist Dr. Robert Fitrakis, examines the rise of white supremacy in Ohio from its colonial origins through today.
