58th Annual Competitions in Musical Performance: Preliminary Rounds

- DescriptionThe 58th annual competitions in musical performance will take place December 3-6, 2025. Preliminary rounds will occur December 3-5 in Kobacker Hall, beginning each day at 9 a.m. The final round of competition will take place December 6 beginning at 10 a.m. in Kobacker. Winners of the competition will be featured soloists with the BG Philharmonia on February 14, 2026.

The most famous of these lights is the one called the star of the wise men. The mystery of this star has fascinated people for centuries. What was this star? Was it a star or another natural light, or a miracle, or a legend? SECRET OF THE STAR explores the many theories of the wise men’s star and looks back in time to the origin of many customs and traditions of the season.$2 donation suggested for all planetarium shows.Public stargazing will follow evening shows, weather permitting.

- Dec 9All dayFREE Martial Arts ClassesLearn taijutsu, a traditional Japanese martial art focused on self-awareness and natural body movement for self-defense. Taijutsu involves unarmed techniques for striking, kicking, blocking, grappling and throwing, traditional weapon techniques, and methods of evasion and escape from dangerous situations.Who can attend?Open to BGSU students, faculty and staff All ability levels are welcomeWhy you should attend Classes are conducted in a supportive environment through which participants can improve their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.How to attendDrop in to join this 6-7:30 p.m. class on Tuesdays between August 26 - December 9.
