Men’s Hoops Puts Together Complete Game For Largest MAC Margin Of Victory During Simon Era
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team got back in the win column Tuesday night (Feb. 3) with a dominant 77-52 win over the Ball State Cardinals. The Falcons took the lead with their first basket and never looked back, never surrendering the lead to Ball State during the game. The Bowling Green defense held Ball State under 30 in both halves, allowing just 52 points the entire game to tie for the fewest points in a MAC game by a team this season. On the offensive side, BGSU was rolling from all levels, shooting 56.3-percent from the field, 50.0-percent from three and 93.3-percent from the free throw line. The well-rounded effort resulted in a 25-point margin of victory for BGSU, their largest during the Coach Simon Era in a MAC contest. Bowling Green moves to 14-9 on the season while being 5-6 within the MAC heading into the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge this weekend.
Bowling Green, Ball State Set For Tuesday Night Battle Of The Birds
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will be back home in the Stroh Center Tuesday night (Feb. 3) to begin the February slate of games for the Falcons. BGSU will host the Ball State Cardinals for a 7 p.m. tip with the game being Faith and Family Night at the Stroh Center. Bowling Green and Ball State enter the game back-to-back in the standings with this being the lone regular season matchup between the two. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ while Todd Walker will have the radio call on WFRO Eagle 99.
The Falcons Nest Coaches Show Returns Monday Night With Simon, Chmiel
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The weekly Falcons Nest Coaches Show presented by Fricker's, returns Monday night (Feb. 2) on Falcon Sports Radio Network stations. The show will begin at 6 p.m. with head men's basketball coach Todd Simon joining the Voice of the Falcons, Todd Walker. The program will transition at 6:30 p.m. to head women's basketball coach Fred Chmiel joining Walker. Both interviews will be in-person at the Bowling Green Fricker's.
CMU Comes Out On Top Of Tight Contest Against BGSU In Mount Pleasant
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team faced off with the Central Michigan Chippewas Saturday night (Jan. 31) in front of a sold out McGuirk Arena for CMU's annual Toilet Paper Toss. The Falcons held CMU to 20 points in the first half, taking a lead to the locker room, but Central Michigan worked to flip the script in the second half. In total, the game saw nine lead changes and five ties along the way, but a late push from Central Michigan made the difference in the 62-59 final. BGSU falls to 13-9 on the season while being 4-6 in conference play.
Falcons Prep For Trek To Mount Pleasant To Face CMU Saturday
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will be on the road for their next game, heading north to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to face the Central Michigan Chippewas. Bowling Green and Central Michigan are set for a 7 p.m. tip on Saturday (Jan. 31) with the game being CMU's Toilet Paper Toss Game. The Falcons head into the contest with a 13-8 overall record and a 4-5 MAC standing. As for the Chippewas, they hold a 6-15 record while being 2-7 in the MAC. The game between the Falcons and Chippewas will be available to stream on ESPN+ with a radio feed from Todd Walker available on WFRO Eagle 99.
