Falcons, Fighting Irish Skate To Scintillating Stalemate; Morneau, Moore Lead Way In Shootout
NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University hockey team took on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Friday night (Jan. 30) on the road to begin the home-and-home weekend series. The Falcons and Fighting Irish worked through 60 minutes of tied hockey and the five-minute overtime didn't settle the score, sending the night to a shootout after the tie. Noah Morneau began the shootout with a goal, becoming the only score of the six tries between the two teams with Cole Moore securing three saves to give BGSU the shootout. As for the regulation action, Quinn Emerson led the Falcons with a goal and two assists, having a hand in all three BGSU goals. He was joined in the scoring by Morneau and Ty Higgins as the Falcon goal scorers for the night. The tie moves BGSU to 14-6-5 on the season.
