A native of Akron, Ohio, Johnson ranked 14th in the nation for points per game in the Division II ranks this past season, averaging 21.6 per game and earning First Team All-MEC, Second Team All-Region and NABC All-District honors.

"Marcus is a dynamic offensive weapon that can really shoot the three and is an elite free throw shooter," said Simon. "He commands double teams in the post as well. He is an excellent passer and his skill set will allow us to use him in a variety of roles. We are very excited about the potential impact he will make."

He added 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 48.2-percent from the field, 39.7-percent from three and 77.8-percent from the line.
