Return of 50/50 Raffle at Bowling Green Athletics Events

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University (BGSU) is excited to announce the return of the 50/50 raffle, which benefits the Ziggy Collective and Bowling Green Youth Baseball, at BGSU athletics events. All proceeds that go to the Ziggy Collective will be allocated for NIL opportunities for BGSU female student-athletes.

"We are fortunate to have important supporters and friends of the Falcons who are eagerly finding innovative strategies to support our student-athletes with NIL opportunities," said Director of Athletics Derek van der Merwe. "This year, female student-athletes in sports designated by the Ziggy Collective, will directly benefit from revenue from 50/50 sales at over 56 different events, including football, basketball, hockey and select volleyball games."

This initiative is a collaboration between two organizations committed to the growth and development of student-athletes and the youth in our community. Half of the proceeds will go to the winner, while the other half in addition to benefiting NIL opportunities for BGSU female student-athletes, will also benefit the Bowling Green Youth Baseball Program.

The 50/50 raffle will be available at all home BGSU football games at Doyt Perry Stadium, starting with the August 29 home opener against Fordham. There will be a kiosk at Doyt Perry Stadium and hawkers walking through the crowd and parking lot area

Fans can also participate during ice hockey games at the Slater Family Ice Arena, men's and women's basketball games at the Stroh Center, select volleyball games at the Stroh Center, and approved high school events on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

Sellers of 50/50 tickets will be spearheaded by members of the BGSU women's basketball team at football games, BGSU volleyball student-athletes at ice hockey games and various support from Bowling Green Youth Baseball at various eligible events.

The Ziggy Collective, a fan-driven NIL collective, plays a crucial role in supporting BGSU student-athletes, alumni, and fans. By partnering with BGSU student-athletes, businesses can gain visibility and contribute to the ongoing success of these athletes. This initiative aligns with BGSU's commitment to fostering excellence both on and off the field.

Bowling Green Youth Baseball has a long-standing tradition of providing exceptional youth sports programming at Carter Park, which is in Bowling Green, Ohio. However, the facility needs significant upgrades to continue offering top-notch experiences for young athletes and to maintain its status as a premier venue in the Midwest. The funds raised through the 50/50 raffle will support crucial projects, including turfing three diamonds to combat weather-related disruptions and enhance the overall experience for participants and spectators.

All 50/50 tickets may be purchased via cash. There will be a credit card option.
