- BGSU Athletics to Host Star-Studded Panel on "The Significance of College Football in America"BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Athletics will host a special panel discussion titled "The Significance of College Football in America" on Thurs., Aug. 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union's Lenhart Grand Ballroom. The event will take place just hours before BGSU's home opener against Lafayette at Doyt Perry Stadium, which marks the debut of Eddie George, the Mike and Jan Wilcox Bowling Green Football Head Coach.

- BGSU Baseball Welcomes Seven Transfers Ahead Of 2026 CampaignBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball program will welcome seven transfers to the team for the 2026 campaign. Over the summer, the Falcons added sophomore right-handed pitcher Chase Clatur, junior right-handed pitcher Andrew Heffernan, junior outfielder Pauly Mancino, redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Ethan Papacek, redshirt junior infielder Vinny Salvione, redshirt senior left-handed pitcher Ethan Stade and junior catcher Lance Vickers.
- 2025 MLB Draft Pick DJ Newman Signs Deal With Houston AstrosHOUSTON, Texas – Bowling Green junior two-way player DJ Newman was selected by the Houston Astros during the 15th round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, going 456th overall. Newman signed a contract to play for the Astros' organization last week. Newman is the 68th player in program history to be selected in the MLB Draft. The Falcons are now one of three teams in the Mid-American Conference with a player selected in both the 2024 and 2025 MLB Drafts, joined by Ball State and Miami (OH).

- Bahamas National Team To Welcome Lourawls Nairn Jr. As Head Coach At FIBA AmeriCupNASSAU, Bahamas - The Bahamas National Team has announced that current BGSU Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach Lourawls Nairn Jr. will serve as the Senior Men's National Team Head Coach at the FIBA AmeriCup. The Cup will take place later this month in Nicaragua, scheduled for August 22-31. The Bahamas will be part of Group A, joined by the United States, Brazil and Uruguay. The first game for the Bahamas will be against the United States on August 23. Following completion of the tournament, Nairn is set to return to Bowling Green and resume his duties as associate head coach.
- Men’s Hoops Earns NABC Academic Excellence AwardKANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court on Thursday (July 17). The awards represent achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and individual players. This year, Bowling Green received the Team Academic Excellence Award with six players being named to the Honors Court. For BGSU, the five players include Javontae Campbell, Wilguens Jr. Exacte, DaJion Humphrey, Mohamed Maxamud, Greg Spurgin and Preston Squire.

- Hudak, Johnson Named Cobalt Golf All-America ScholarsNORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has released its list of 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. BGSU's Evan Johnson and Darin Hudak have each earned All-America Scholar honors for their outstanding athletic and academic performances in the 2024-25 season.

- Jessica Andrews Called Up To Team Canada At World ChampionshipsBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University middle blocker Jessica Andrews has been called up to Canada's National Team that will be competing at the 2025 World Championships in Thailand. Andrews has been competing with Team Canada at the Pan-Am Volleyball Cup and will now transition to the National Team. Andrews will be one of 25 athletes to represent Team Canada.
- BGSU Volleyball Announces Additions Of Pytlak, Bennett To StaffBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University head volleyball coach Alex DelPiombo announced two hirings to her staff for the Orange and Brown. DelPiombo and the Falcons will welcome Lukas Pytlak as an assistant coach and Dominic Bennett as the director of volleyball operations. Pytlak returns to the MAC after playing for Ball State while Bennett will join BGSU from Heartland Community College where he served as an assistant coach.
