Samia Becdach and Natalia Mayorga Earn MAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – In the opening week of the 2025-2026 season, a BGSU swimmer and diver were named MAC Swimmer and Diver of the week at the same time.
Sophomore swimmer Samia Becdach and junior diver Natalia Mayorga were voted the honor on Monday. This same occurrence transpired last season during the first week of November, as they were acclaimed for their performance against Akron on Nov. 1, 2024.
The pair had a strong showing at the meet last Saturday in Indianapolis. Becdach anchored a 400-medley relay squad that earned the top spot, finishing at 3:48.01. Later in the day, she won the 50 back (23.80) and finished second in the 100 free (51.21). Mayorga was second in the one-meter (259.05) and in the three-meter (259.05).
Both will be back in the pool next Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Falcons take on Miami (Ohio) at 1 p.m.
