Fannin Named MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - For the third week in a row Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr. earned Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week accolades. This time he shares the honor with Western Michigan's Hayden Wolff (QB) for games played through Oct. 6. It is the third career MAC weekly honor for Fannin.
Fannin Jr. (Canton, Ohio, Jr.) had a standout performance, catching nine passes for 135 yards and rushing twice for 37 yards, including a game-winning 31-yard touchdown against Akron on a crucial 4th-and-2 play. His 172 all-purpose yards were the highest among the nation's tight ends for the week, with his 135 receiving yards ranking second among tight ends and 11th among all receivers, including leading the MAC. Fannin extended his program record for a tight end with his fourth consecutive game of 100+ receiving yards and played a pivotal role in the Falcons' opening drive with two catches for 83 yards and a key block for a touchdown. Six of his nine catches resulted in first downs, and he tallied 78 yards after the catch while breaking multiple tackles both receiving and rushing. The victory marked Bowling Green's 300th MAC win, placing them third in league history.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday when NIU comes to Doyt Perry Stadium for Kids Day. Kick is set for 3:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
