BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Mike and Jan Wilcox Bowling Green Football Head Coach Eddie George has announced the hiring of Nina Baloun as Director of Football Operations and Chief of Staff for the Bowling Green State University football program.

Baloun brings nearly two decades of experience in college football operations and recruiting to BGSU, having served most recently as the Assistant Director of Football Operations at the University of Notre Dame. Her extensive background spans some of the nation's most competitive football programs, including stops at Indiana, East Carolina, Houston and Illinois, after getting her start at her alma mater, Toledo.

At Notre Dame, Baloun played a pivotal role in managing team travel logistics, supporting practice and training camp operations, coordinating summer camps, and assisting with key events such as Pro Day, the Spring Game and Bowl preparations. She has also worked closely with NFL scouts, officials and player development staff, demonstrating a broad skill set and deep understanding of program needs at the highest level of collegiate athletics.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nina Baloun to our staff," said George. "She is an elite professional who brings a wealth of experience and a championship mindset to Bowling Green. Her ability to manage complex operations, connect with student-athletes, and lead with integrity will be a tremendous asset as we continue building something special here. Nina is respected across college football for a reason, and I look forward to her contributions as we continue to elevate the momentum of our program."

Baloun has held director-level positions at East Carolina and Houston, where she oversaw internal operations, recruiting logistics, student-athlete transitions and event planning. She is widely respected across the industry for her attention to detail, leadership, and ability to foster strong relationships with coaches, players and administrative personnel.

"I'm beyond grateful to Coach Eddie George, Derek van der Merwe and Angie Hull for the opportunity to be a part of BGSU Football," said Baloun. "It's an honor to step into a pivotal role and join a program with tremendous pride, enthusiasm, and passion for the game of football and shaping the lives of the student athletes. The vision Coach George has for this program, coupled with the outpouring support from the Bowling Green community has been unbelievable to see. I'm driven to support his mission for the program and the overall student experience.

"I'm thankful for the invaluable opportunity Coach Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame Football program gave me the last three years but am looking forward to being back in the great state of Ohio and building something special at BGSU with this team!"

A native of Amherst, Ohio, Baloun holds three degrees from the University of Toledo—bachelor of science and master of science in criminal justice and a master of arts in counseling. She is an active member of the American Football Coaches Association and has served on the AFCA Meeting Room Committee since 2018.
