Falcons Return Home For Senior Day
• Bowling Green State University returns home to face the Buffalo Bulls in MAC play.
• It marks the 22nd meeting between the Falcons and Bulls, and the 14th matchup taking place in the month of November.
• At one point, 12 of 16 meetings were played in November before a 2021 matchup began a three-game stretch of October meetings.
• Twenty-one BGSU seniors will be honored prior to the game.
• It is also Military Appreciation Day.
Bowling Green vs. Buffalo
• BGSU leads the all-time series with UB, 13-8. Buffalo has been a member of the MAC since 2000. The road team has held the advantage in the series.
• BGSU opened the series with an 11-3 lead but has won just two of the last seven meetings.
• Bowling Green is 5-1 against UB when holding the Bulls below 300 yards of total offense.
• The Falcons are 10-4 against UB when accumulating 350 or more yards of total offense.
• BGSU is 6-1 against UB when winning the turnover battle and 4-5 when they do not.
Five Top Storylines
• RB Austyn Dendy made his collegiate debut at Kent State, rushing 20 times for 93 yards and one touchdown. His 93 rushing yards are the most by a Falcon in a debut since Anthon Samuel rushed for 141 yards at Idaho on Sept. 1, 2011.
• LB Gideon Lampron ranks No. 9 in the nation in solo tackles (42) and No. 24 in total tackles (77). He is one of four players nationally with 75+ tackles, 9.0+ TFLs, 1.5+ sacks, and 1+ pass defended. Buffalo's Khalil Murdock is one of the others.
• CB MJ Cannon is the only defensive back in the nation with 45+ tackles (46), 1.0+ sack (1), 1+ interception (1), 1+ fumble recovery (1), and 3.5+ TFLs (5.0).
• TE Jyrin Johnson ranks No. 25 nationally among tight ends with 23 receptions. His 12.1 yards per reception ranks No. 9 among tight ends with at least 31 targets, and his 278 receiving yards rank No. 28 among FBS tight ends.
• RB Cameron Pettaway ranks No. 2 in the nation in kick return average (33.0). He also leads the country in kick returns of 40+ yards (3) and 50+ yards (2). Pettaway's 33.0-yard average ranks No. 25 in FBS history (since 1995) for best kick return average through eight games (minimum 12 returns).
The 2013 Meeting in Orchard Park
• The 2013 meeting took place at the Bills' Ralph Wilson Stadium, where BGSU earned a 24-7 win to clinch a spot in the MAC Championship Game.
• BGSU shut down the Buffalo offense, holding the Bulls to 236 total yards. UB entered the game having won eight of its previous nine contests, but the Falcons limited the Bulls to just one second-quarter touchdown — their lowest scoring output of the season. Most notably, running back Branden Oliver was bottled up for just 46 rushing yards, 123 below his average in conference play entering the game.
Bowling Green - Buffalo connections
• First-year Buffalo cornerback Keontez Bradley is the brother of BGSU defensive end Myles Bradley. Their father, Chioke, played football at BGSU (1994-97) and served as their high school coach at Mansfield. Keontez spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Arizona State, where he was teammates in 2023 with current BGSU quarterback Drew Pyne.
• Buffalo tight end Mitch Viviano attended Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA) in Virginia for a prep season. BGSU head coach Eddie George also spent two years of high school and one prep year at FUMA.
The 2021 Meeting at UB Stadium
• The 2021 meeting at UB Stadium in 2021 was electric.
• Bowling Green topped Buffalo by a score of 56-44.
• The 56 points scored by Bowling Green were the most tallied in the series by either team.
• Bowling Green scored 28 points in the fourth quarter.
• For the Falcons, the offensive pursuit was paced by quarterback Matt McDonald who totaled five touchdowns for the Orange and Brown.
• McDonald tossed four scores and added another on the ground.
• Tyrone Broden and Christian Sims each hauled in a pair of the touchdown passes and surpassed 100 yards receiving.
• On the ground, Terion Stewart registered the first 100-yard rushing game of the 2021 season for Bowling Green and added two touchdowns to his stat line.
• Jhaylin Embry also found the end zone on the ground for the Falcons en route to the victory.
Caden Marshall is Next Man Up
• LB Caden Marshall has stepped into the starting rotation following the season-ending injury to LB Dorian Pringle. Marshall has totaled 24 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 1.0 sack, and 3 PBUs in six games.
• Marshall is averaging 0.6 TFLs per game, which ranks No. 3 nationally among freshman linebackers.
• Marshall is the only freshman defensive player (true or redshirt) with at least 24 tackles, 3.5+ TFLs, and 3+ PBUs this season. Only 24 other FBS linebackers players meet those marks — and Marshall has done it in just six games.
• Pringle suffered his season-ending injury against Liberty (Game 3). At the time, he led the nation with 6.0 TFLs.
• Marshall joined BGSU in 2025 after redshirting the 2024 season at Tennessee State.
Locked and Loaded: Cannon Brings the Boom
• CB MJ Cannon is tied for No. 10 nationally among defensive backs with 5.0 TFLs.
• Cannon is one of three defensive backs in the nation with 5.0+ TFLs, 1.0+ sacks, and 1+ fumble recovery. Fred Perry (West Virginia) and Keionte Scott (Miami) are the others.
• Cannon joined BGSU this season after appearing in 24 career games at Illinois State, where he earned second-team All-MVC honors in 2024.
EstoEsta gets the call at safety
• True freshman Preston EstoEsta made started his first collegiate game last time out at Kent State.
• With 12 tackles and 1.0 TFL, he is the first true freshman for the Falcons to reach those numbers through his first four collegiate games since S Jordan Anderson in 2019 who had 14 stops and 1.0 TFL.

- Falcons Fall To Golden Flashes, 24-21KENT, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team took on the Kent State Golden Flashes on the road Saturday (Oct. 25). The Falcons jumped out to a 14-3 lead at halftime with scores from Jacob Harris and Austyn Dendy, but Kent State fought back in the second half. The Golden Flashes rallied to take the lead, 24-21, with three minutes left in the game, holding on to the score to the final whistle. The loss moves BGSU to 3-5 on the season while being 1-3 in MAC play.
