Harold Fannin Jr. Accepts an Invite to the 2025 NFL Combine
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green football tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has accepted an invite to the 2025 NFL Combine, which runs from February 27 to March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. Fannin is the first Falcon to be invited to the NFL Combine since Chris Jones in 2014.
The tight ends are slated to go with the defensive backs on Friday, Feb. 28. All workouts air on the NFL Network.
Each year, hundreds of college football players are invited to the combine to undergo physical and mental tests by NFL coaches, executives, and scouts ahead of the NFL Draft. Among these tests are the 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, interviews with team staff, and other mental challenges, such as the Wonderlic test.
Fannin (Canton, Ohio) is currently shining in Mobile, Ala., at the 2025 Senior Bowl practices. The Senior Bowl game is on Saturday and will be broadcast live on the NFL Network at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Fannin had a prolific 2024 season for the Falcons. His 117 receptions and 1,555 receiving yards not only lead the nation but are also all-time FBS season records for a tight end. Fannin led the nation's tight ends in 105+ different categories and all receivers in 20+ categories. Fannin was BGSU's first-ever consensus All-American, earning first-team honors in four of the five consensus All-America teams. He was also just the first FBS tight end to earn a league MVP honor when the MAC named Fannin the Vern Smith Leadership Award recipient. Fannin was also named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.
Fannin owns more than 20 BGSU school records and set eight FBS records in 2024, which include the following tight end categories: season receptions, season receiving yards, season receptions per game, season receiving yards per game, bowl receptions, bowl receiving yards, regular-season receiving yards, and regular-season receiving yards per game. Additionally, his 17 receptions in the 68 Ventures Bowl tied an FBS record for tight end receptions in any game.
Fannin is the highest-graded college football player according to Pro Football Focus, earning an overall grade of 96.1. He is also the top-graded pass-catching tight end in run blocking, with a grade of 73.7. Fannin's 34 broken tackles in 2024 set a PFF-era record for a tight end.
