Fannin Named to the Sporting News Midseason All-America Team
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has been named a Midseason All-American by the Sporting News, as announced by the outlet today (Oct. 18). He is one of two players from the MAC and one of nine student-athletes from a "Group of 5" league on the list.
Fannin (Canton, Ohio, Jr.) leads the nation's tight ends in receiving yards (702), receptions (50), touchdowns (5), YAC (406), broken tackles (18) and first downs (33). His grade from Pro Football Focus of 95.1 is the second-best grade in college football. Fannin also ranks nationally among all receivers in various categories, including No. 5 in receiving yards, No. 4 in receptions, No. 2 in YAC, No. 2 in broken tackles and No. 4 in first downs.
So far this season Fannin has broken the BGSU single-game (193) and single-season (702) records for receiving yards by a tight end. He also owns the BGSU career record for receiving touchdowns by a tight end (12) and he is currently tied with his position coach, Alex Bayer, for No. 1 in program history for career receiving yards by a BGSU tight end (1,543).
The Falcons return to action on Saturday when Kent State comes to Doyt Perry Stadium for Family Weekend. Game kicks at 3:30 p.m.
