Bowling Green’s Harold Fannin Jr. Accepts Senior Bowl Invite
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has accepted an invitation to the prestigious Reese's Senior Bowl. Fannin will become the eighth Falcon all-time to appear in the Senior Bowl and the third under BGSU head coach Scot Loeffler. The Senior Bowl, first played in 1950, is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the initial stage in the NFL Draft process.
Fannin (Jr., Canton, Ohio) had a prolific 2024 season for the Falcons. His 117 receptions and 1,555 receiving yards currently lead all the nation's receivers but are also all-time FBS season records for a tight end. Fannin leads the nation's tight ends in 23+ different categories and ranks in the Top 5 among all receivers in 16 other categories. Fannin was BGSU's first-ever consensus All-American as he was named to the first team in four of the five consensus All-America teams. He was also just the second FBS tight end to earn a league's MVP honor when the MAC named Fannin the Vern Smith Leadership Award recipient. Fannin also was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Fannin owns over 20+ BGSU school records and he set eight FBS records as well in 2024, which include the following tight end categories: season receptions, season receiving yards, season receptions per game, season receiving per game, bowl receptions, bowl receiving yards, regular season receiving yards and regular season receiving yards per game. Also, his 17 receptions in the 68 Ventures Bowl tied a FBS record for tight end receptions in any game.
Fannin is the highest-graded college football player according to Pro Football Focus, earning an overall grade of 96.0. He is also the top-graded pass-catching tight end in run blocking, with a grade of 73.2. Fannin's 32 broken tackles in 2024 are a PFF-era record for a tight end. The closest tight end this season has 18.
Fannin gets the invite as an underclassman, which was a rule change in advance of the 2024 game last year.
The Reese's Senior Bowl, held annually in Mobile, Ala., is the longest-running college football all-star game, now in its 76th year. More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 1,100 media members attended last year's event. The 2024 Senior Bowl produced 110 NFL draftees, accounting for 43 percent of the entire draft class.
The 2025 Reese's Senior Bowl will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on NFL Network and held at Hancock Whitney Stadium on the campus of South Alabama.
