Javontae Campbell Named MAC Co-Player Of The Week
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the men's basketball MAC Co-Players of the Week Monday afternoon (March 3). This week's recipients consisted of Bowling Green's Javontae Campbell, a junior guard from Muskogee, Okla., and Central Michigan's Chansey Willis Jr. This marks the second award of Campbell's BGSU career, receiving the recognition solely on Dec. 30. In addition to Campbell, Derrick Butler was named a Co-Player of the Week on Dec. 9.
Campbell extended his 20-point game streak to now five straight while also breaking the program's single-season steals record. Campbell started the week against Eastern Michigan with a full stat line, scoring 25 points to go along with seven assists, five rebounds and five steals. He followed it up against Ball State with 26 points, three assists, two rebounds and three steals, helping the Falcons tally their third-straight win as well as wins in six of their last eight. Campbell now has five-consecutive 20-point games as well as 85 steals on the season, breaking BGSU's program record for single-season steals and tying for sixth in MAC history.

The Falcons have a big week ahead as they battle for a spot in the MAC Tournament. BGSU will begin on the road against Northern Illinois on Tuesday (March 4) with a 7 p.m. tip. The Falcons will then transition home for the regular season finale on Friday (March 7) against Western Michigan with a 7 p.m. start.

- Campbell, Felt Earn All-MAC RecognitionsCLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Awards for the 2024-25 men's basketball season Wednesday morning (March 12). Of those named, the Falcons collected three different honors from the conference. Javontae Campbell earned All-MAC Third Team as well as MAC All-Defensive Team honors while Jamai Felt was named to the MAC All-Freshman Team. Campbell and Felt continue a streak of 24 consecutive seasons with at least one Falcon named to an All-MAC team at the conclusion of the season.

Bowling Green and Akron are the first game of the men's side of the MAC Tournament, playing at 11 a.m. inside Rocket Arena, the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The winner will advance to the MAC Semifinals on Friday (March 14). BGSU closed out the regular season with wins in seven of their last 10, including in each of their final four road games. - Falcons Clinch Spot In Cleveland As MAC Tournament 8-Seed Despite LossBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team hosted the Western Michigan Broncos in the regular season finale Friday (March 7). With a MAC Tournament berth on the line for both teams, Bowling Green and Western Michigan battled back-and-forth with just a one-point difference at the half and the final whistle. Despite fighting to the end, the Falcons came up short in the 64-63. However, with results from around the conference, Bowling Green still clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament, getting into the field as the 8-seed. BGSU will now face 1-seed Akron on Thursday (March 13) with an 11 a.m. tip on ESPN+ inside Rocket Arena.
