BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program and head coach Todd Simon announced the signing of Jason Kimbrough Jr. on Thursday (April 24). Kimbrough, a 6-foot guard, will join the Falcons after spending the 2024-25 campaign with Highland Community College in Illinois. A native of Maricopa, Ariz., Kimbrough was named an NJCAA Division I All-America Honorable Mention as well as All-Region Honors this past season in the NJCAA's Region 4.

"We are excited to add Jason to the program," said Simon. "Jason is an exciting player that can beat you with his shooting, off the bounce, and his passing. He was ninth in the NJCAA in assists per game. He was among the nation leaders with his 45.6-percent from three. We think his game fits our up-tempo system perfectly and that he will thrive with our player development.  He has worked very hard to get to this point in his career and we see that work ethic continuing here at Bowling Green."

During the 2024-25 season, Kimbrough started all 29 games he appeared in for Highland. He averaged 18.6 points per game while shooting 47.9-percent from the field (198-of-413), 45.6-percent from three (77-of-169) and 85.9-percent at the free throw line (67-of-78). In addition to his efficiency in scoring, Kimbrough totaled 181 assists, tied for 15th in the nation among the NJCAA while averaging 6.2 assists per game ranked ninth. He also added 50 steals to his season stat line.

This past season, Kimbrough posted three double-doubles with points and assists, including a 31-point, 10-assist game on Dec. 13 as well as a 24-point, 12-assist game on Jan. 8. Over the course of the season, he posted 26 games with double-digit points, 14 20-point games and two 30-point games. He also tallied three or more steals in six games, including three games with four steals.

Kimbrough began his collegiate career at Phoenix College, appearing in 26 games for the Bears and averaged 8.2 points per game. He shot 41.3-percent from the field and 86.2-percent from the free throw line while averaging 4.6 assists per game.
