BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program and head coach Todd Simon announced the signing of Josiah Shackelford on Thursday (April 24). Shackelford, a 6-foot-4 guard, will join the Falcons after playing the 2024-25 season at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla. A native of Sanford, Fla., Shackelford was named the 2024-25 Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and earned All-Conference Third-Team honors as well.

"Josiah is a big strong guard with an elite ability to score in a variety of ways," said Simon. "He is a sniper from three at 45-percent but can also attack off the bounce and play with physicality. His parents have instilled an incredible work ethic and mindset that has translated to his success and will continue to let him grow in our program. We look forward to his impact next season."

During the 2024-25 campaign, Shackelford averaged a team-high 15.8 points per game for Flagler while playing in all 28 games with four starts. He added 4.0 rebounds per game while logging his first collegiate double-double in the regular season finale with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Shackelford finished the year shooting 49.0-percent from the field (146-of-298), 45.3-percent from three (62-of-137) and 78.1-percent at the line (89-of-114). In the 28 games, Shackelford tallied double-digit points 23 times while scoring 20+ in 10 contests.

During his career, he scored over 1,300 points while averaging 22.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.1 steals per game as a senior.
