BGSU Athletics Partners with Vet Tix to Provide Complimentary Tickets to Veterans, Military Personnel, First Responders and Their Families
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio— Bowling Green State University Athletics has announced a new partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix) and 1st Tix, offering complimentary tickets to Falcon Football, Volleyball, Ice Hockey, Men's and Women's Basketball and Gymnastics home events during the 2025-26 season.
The initiative supports and honors the nation's veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, and their families by providing access to live BGSU sporting events.
This announcement comes as BGSU has once again been recognized as a national leader in serving those who served. For the fourth consecutive year, the University has been ranked the No. 1 university in the Midwest for veterans and active military students, according to Military Times.
"It is a pretty simple service to sign up for an account," said Bryan Bills, BGSU Military Program Coordinator. "You need to prove your service and then can search for anything that interests you. I have been fortunate enough to use Vet Tix for a handful of concerts. The couple that I have been to have been next to free, because I had to pay for parking, but it is still a sweet deal. I have had numerous friends in my unit that have used them to get some R&R in between deployments and training. I think BGSU teaming up with Vet Tix shows their commitment to the military, veteran, and their families. BGSU has always supported the military community and supported the students that have honored our country."
Eligible individuals can request free tickets through Vet Tix at www.VetTix.org or 1st Tix at www.1stTix.org. To claim tickets, users must create or log in to an account on the respective platform. First-time users can begin registration at vettix.org/signup_start.php. Account setup requires verification through ID.me and confirmation of service or affiliation.
Since 2008, Vet Tix has distributed more than 29 million tickets to veterans, active service members, and families of fallen heroes through its Tickets for Troops program. Vet Tix and 1st Tix provide access to a wide range of events—including sports, concerts, and the performing arts—aiming to strengthen family bonds, reduce stress, and build community.
Vet Tix is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by veterans. Its mission is to give back to those who gave by offering free event tickets to enrich lives and create lasting memories. 1st Tix operates under the same mission, serving first responders.
