BGSU Men’s Basketball Unveils 2025-26 MAC Schedule
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program has announced the conference portion of the 2025-26 schedule. The Falcons are set to play 18 games within the Mid-American Conference, hosting nine and traveling for nine. The non-conference portion of the 2025-26 schedule for Bowling Green as well as game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
"This is a schedule that our fans should be excited to see," said head coach Todd Simon. "There's no doubt we have one of the toughest MAC schedules in recent memory. We open with the top four teams from last season along with a trip to UMass to start conference play. Our guys will be challenged with 12 games against the seven other MAC Tournament teams along with two against new member UMass. The 2025-26 MAC Schedule
For the first time since the 2020-21 season, play within the MAC will begin for the Falcons in the month of December with two conference contests during the 2025 portion of the 2025-26 campaign. Bowling Green will open their MAC slate on the road, traveling to take on Ohio in Athens on Dec. 20. As for the conference home opener, the Falcons will play host to Miami (OH) on Dec. 30 inside the Stroh Center.
As the calendar flips to 2026, the Orange and Brown will return to the road for a pair of matchups. On Jan. 3, BGSU will head to UMass for the first time in program history to welcome the Minutemen to the MAC. The road trip will continue with a stop at Kent State on Jan. 6 before returning home on Jan. 10 to host Akron.
The Falcons will have a week between MAC games in early January, remaining at home over the break to host Eastern Michigan on Jan. 17. From there, it will be back on the road for another pair of games, first going to Western Michigan on Jan. 20 before taking on Toledo in the Battle of I-75 on Jan. 24 inside Savage Arena.
The home schedule will resume on Jan. 27 for the Orange and Brown, hosting Buffalo, before heading back on the road to Central Michigan on Jan. 31. The alternating home and away will continue by hosting Ball State on Feb. 3 before taking on the second leg of the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge on Feb. 7 with the opponent to be announced later in the season.
After the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge, conference play will pick back up for the Falcons on Feb. 11 at NIU before coming home for a pair of home games. The home stretch will begin with the Battle of I-75 on Feb. 14 inside the Stroh Center followed by hosting Kent State on Feb. 17. From there, BGSU will head south to Miami (OH) on Feb. 21.
Bowling Green's schedule brings the Falcons back home for back-to-back home games. The first will be on Feb. 24, hosting Western Michigan, before hosting UMass on Feb. 28 for the first time in program history. BGSU will start the month of March with their second bye before heading north to Eastern Michigan on March 6 to wrap up the conference schedule.

- BGSU Hall of Famer Walt Piatkowski Passes AwayBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Former Bowling Green Falcon, MAC Champion and 1989 Bowling Green State University Hall of Fame inductee Walt Piatkowski passed away Monday (Aug. 18) in Omaha, Neb at the age of 80. Piatkowski was a 1968 Bowling Green graduate and one of only five Falcons all-time to be named a three-time BGSU men's basketball MVP, joined by James Darrow, Nate Thurmond, A'uston Calhoun and Justin Turner.
- BGSU Men’s Hoops Adds EKU Transfer Forward Mayar Wol Ahead Of 2025-26 CampaignBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program and head coach Todd Simon announced the signing of Mayar Wol on Friday (August 22). Wol, a 6-foot-8 forward, will join the Falcons after spending the 2024-25 season with Eastern Kentucky. A native of Raleigh, N.C., Wol played in 32 games for the Colonels last season, including 20 starts while averaging 23.8 minutes per game. Wol comes to BGSU with two years of eligibility remaining.
- Bahamas National Team To Welcome Lourawls Nairn Jr. As Head Coach At FIBA AmeriCupNASSAU, Bahamas - The Bahamas National Team has announced that current BGSU Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach Lourawls Nairn Jr. will serve as the Senior Men's National Team Head Coach at the FIBA AmeriCup. The Cup will take place later this month in Nicaragua, scheduled for August 22-31. The Bahamas will be part of Group A, joined by the United States, Brazil and Uruguay. The first game for the Bahamas will be against the United States on August 23. Following completion of the tournament, Nairn is set to return to Bowling Green and resume his duties as associate head coach.
- Men’s Hoops Earns NABC Academic Excellence AwardKANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court on Thursday (July 17). The awards represent achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and individual players. This year, Bowling Green received the Team Academic Excellence Award with six players being named to the Honors Court. For BGSU, the five players include Javontae Campbell, Wilguens Jr. Exacte, DaJion Humphrey, Mohamed Maxamud, Greg Spurgin and Preston Squire.
- BGSU Athletics Announces 2025 Hall of Fame ClassThe Bowling Green State University Athletics Department has announced the latest class of inductees into the Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. The induction ceremony and related events will take place on the weekend of Oct. 10-11, 2025, with the induction ceremony set for Friday evening, Oct. 10, and the inductees recognized at the football game vs. Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 11.
