BGSU Men’s Golf Adds Six to 2024-2025 Roster
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio- The Bowling Green State University men's golf team and Head Coach John Powers announced the addition of four players to the team's 2025 roster. The Falcons will welcome four freshman and two transfers. The incoming student athletes hail from the states of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and province of Ontario.
"We look forward to welcoming a big group of student-athletes to the squad this season," said Powers. "They are an extremely athletic bunch of individuals who will thrive in this competitive environment. We've identified an exceptional group of freshmen who can and will contribute right away while bringing two veteran players on board who have proven experience at the college and men's amateur levels. Combined with our core of upperclassmen returning this fall, I expect us to have a highly competitive team."
Brady Fox- Plain City, Ohio/Jonathan Alder High School
Coming to Bowling Green from Plain City Ohio, Brady Fox will join the falcons after earning four letters and helping Jonathan Alder High School to a 79-1 record. At Jonathan Alder High School, he was a four-time central buckeye conference champion and was named first team all-conference on three occasions. Fox was named second team All-Ohio in the 2022 season and was a two-time district runner-up.
Alexander Gibson- Concord, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin (Eastern Michigan University/Rider University)
Alexander Gibson joins the falcons after stops at both Eastern Michigan and Rider University. The Concord, Ohio native finished tied for ninth in the Northeast Ohio Amateur shooting rounds of 71,71 and 73. In 2023-24 season with the Eagles. Gibson also tied for 18th at the 2023 Ohio Open with a 209. During his two seasons with Rider University, he appeared in 10 tournaments and recorded a 74.85 scoring average in the 2022-23 season.
Evan Johnson- Grosse Ile, Mich.,/Grosse Ile (Northwood University)
Evan Johnson will come to Bowling Green after lettering for four years at nearby D2 Northwood University in Midland, Mich. He was a GMAC Men's Golf Elite 26 Award Winner and named to the GMAC All Conference Team in the 2022-2023 season. Prior to his time at Northwood, at Grosse Ile High School, Johnson was a 2020 Michigan Junior PGA Championship runner-up and Michigan Junior Amateur Quarterfinalist.
Brayden Larson- Faribault, Minn.,/Shattuck St.Mary's School
A 5-foot 10 right-handed golfer Brayden Larson will join the falcons from Faribault, Minn., He was a four-year letterwinner in boy's golf at the Shattuck St. Mary's School and was a captain of the golf team.
Andrew Lee- Mississauga, ON/Port Credit Secondary School
Coming to Bowling Green from Mississauga, ON., Andrew Lee will join the falcons after earning three letters and being a three-time captain in boy's golf at Port Credit Secondary School. Lee finished sixth individually and his team finished first in the Region of Peel League in 2023 and is currently the 37th ranked junior in Ontario. In his time at Port Credit Secondary, he was named a three-time MVP from 2021-2023.
Charlie Pettrone-Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge High School
A 5-foot 9 right-handed golfer, Charlie Pettrone will join the falcons from Crystal Lake, Ill., after being a four-year letterwinner in boy's golf and two-time team captain at Crystal Lake High School. Pettrone was a 2023 Fox Valley Conference Champion and All Conference Leader. In 2023 and 2022, he was the Charger Invitational and Boulder Ridge Invitational Runner-up.
