BGSU Men’s Golf Travels to Nevada for Mesquite Desert Classic
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons Golf Team will travel to Mesquite, Nev., to compete in Eastern Kentucky's Mesquite Desert Classic at the Casablanca Resort & Casino. This will mark the Falcons first trip to an Eastern Kentucky sponsored event since the 2019-2020 season.
Last Time Out
- BGSU competed at The Match Play in Dade City, Fla. and recorded a 2-1-0 record
- Senior Darin Hudak finished fourth in the tournament with a 3.89 stroke average on par 4 holes, while graduate Evan Johnson finished tied for seventh with a 3.96 stroke average.
- Darin Hudak, Evan Johnson, Luke Evans and Andrew Lee all won two out of three match ups
Notables
- The Orange and Brown will play in an Eastern Kentucky hosted tournament for the first time since the 2019-2020 season when the Falcons finished fourth at the Raising Canes Invitational in Richmond, Ky.
- Bowling Green will travel the furthest west since Nov. 3-5, 2017, when the BGSU traveled to the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic on Maui, Hawaii hosted by the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors
- BGSU will be one of two Mid-American schools competing in the tournament with the other being Ohio University.
- The Falcons will be competing in their final tournament in the month of February

In the three-day three round event the Falcons finished ninth out of 12 teams. Notably, in the second round, the Falcons shot a 278 (-10) for the sixth lowest 18-hole team score in program history.
- Falcons Golf Finishes Fifth in The Match PlayDADE CITY, Fla. – The Bowling Green Men's Golf Team finished their first tournament of the 2025 competitive spring season. In match-play the Falcons went 2-1-0 with round two and three wins over the Central Michigan Chippewas and USC Upstate Spartans. The two-day event was held at Lake Jovita Country Club, a par 72, 7121-yard course in Dade City, Fla.
- BGSU Men’s Golf Set to Open 2025 at The Match PlayBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Men's Golf team will open the 2025 competitive spring portion of their season at the Match Play on Monday Feb. 10 – Tuesday Feb. 11. The tournament hosted by Ball State will consist of match play match-up with the team with more points moving on to the next round. The shot gun start is scheduled for 8:30 am at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
