Trace Terry Named MVC Offensive Player of Week
ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Bowling Green State University men's soccer standout Trace Terry has been named Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 2). Terry earns the MVC weekly honor for the first time this season and the third time in his BGSU career.
Terry, a native of Bellbrook, Ohio (Bellbrook H.S.), scored the first two goals of the match as the Falcons went on the road and picked up a 3-0 victory over Wright State Thursday night (Aug. 28). Terry scored what would prove to be the winning goal midway through the first half, then gave the Falcons a two-goal lead just over five minutes into the second half. He was dangerous all evening, as he took six shot attempts and put all six on goal.
For Terry, the two-goal match was the fifth of his career, and the GWG was his eighth as a Falcon. He now has 20 goals and 51 points in his career, and ranks 16th in career goals and 20th in career points on the BGSU lists. He has moved into a tie for fifth place in career GWG.
Terry and the Falcons are home on Friday evening (Sept. 5), facing Michigan State in a 7:00 p.m. start at Cochrane Stadium. Admission is free to all BGSU home soccer matches.
