Bowling Green State University men's soccer standouts Brendan Graves and Trace Terry have earned Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week honors. Terry has been named the MVC's Offensive Player of the Week, with Graves earning Defensive Player-of-the-Week accolades. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 1).

Each player has earned their respective honor for the second time this season. Graves was recognized by the MVC office on Sept. 3 as well, with Terry being honored for the second-straight week.

And, earlier on Tuesday, Alberto Anaya earned honorable mention on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week.

Terry, a native of Bellbrook, Ohio (Bellbrook), scored three goals for the second-straight week, and had the game-winning goal in both of BGSU's matches. The junior scored two first-half goals in a 5-0 dismantling of Eastern Illinois last Tuesday night (Sept. 24), then had the lone goal of the match in Friday's (Sept. 27) 1-0 victory over Belmont. The latter goal came on a gorgeous header from outside the 18-yard box.

Terry has scored at least one goal in four-straight matches, with a total of six goals in that four-game span. He has nine goals on the season, the highest total by a Falcon since 2015, and leads the team with 19 points and four GWG this season.

Graves, a native of Perrysburg, Ohio (Perrysburg), made a total of seven saves and kept a pair of clean sheets last week. The fifth-year Falcon had four stops in the win over Eastern Illinois, then made three saves – all in the second half – in Friday's one-goal victory over Belmont. The shutouts were his second and third of the season, respectively, and he now has 14 clean sheets in his career.

Graves has a GAA of 1.00 this season, and that average drops to 0.67 in MVC matches. He has moved into the top 10 in shutouts on the BGSU career list, and he is now tied for seventh on the school list for career wins, with 24.

Anaya, who hails from Queretaro, Mexico (ITESM Leon), had four assists in the win over EIU, tying the school record. He matched the mark set by Brian Ferguson in a 6-1 win over Eastern Michigan on Sept. 20, 1989. On the season, Anaya has 11 points on two goals and a BG-best seven assists.

The senior has moved into a tie for 13th on the BGSU career assists list, with 21, and he is 23rd on the school list for career points (49).

The Falcons, who are receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 poll, are 8-1-1 overall and 3-0-0 heading into Saturday's (Oct. 5) match at UIC. BGSU's overall record represents the team's best start since the 1995 season, and the team is off to a 3-0-0 start in conference play for the first time since 1996.
