BGSU Basketball Teams To Host Hoops Night Tuesday At BGSU Letters
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's and women's basketball programs will kick off the 2025-26 campaign with Hoops Night on Tuesday (Oct. 14). The event will be held on campus at the BGSU Letters, located at the center of campus outside of the Bowen Thompson Student Union. The event is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will be free to attend.
Both the men's and women's basketball teams will be present at the event, giving the fans an opportunity to meet and mingle with both squads. The night will feature a live DJ, giveaway items, prizes and competitions for BGSU students to compete in, all taking place at the BGSU Letters. While the event is tailored towards students, all fans are welcome to join the festivities as the Orange and Brown jump into the new season.
For men's basketball, the first home game of the season will also mark the season opener, hosting Texas State on Nov. 3 with a 7 p.m. tip. The men's hoops squad is entering the third season under Head Coach Todd Simon and will have two exhibitions before the start of the season, heading to Michigan State on Oct. 23 and Dayton on Oct. 27.
As for the women's basketball team, they will begin the season on the road at Louisiana on Nov. 3. After six road games to begin the season, the home schedule will start on Nov. 30 for the women's team, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne for a 2 p.m. tip. Prior to the season, the Falcons are scheduled for an exhibition at home against Wooster on Oct. 24. Like the men's team, this will be the third season under Head Coach Fred Chmiel for the women.
