Falcons' Second-Place Finish at MAC Championships Best in Program History
Muncie, Ind. – Bowling Green State University women's golf team concluded their 2025 season with a strong showing at the MAC Championships.
Competing through three days and a 54-hole tournament at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, the Falcons finished in second place only behind Kent State, who have now won 26 consecutive MAC titles, for their best finish at the Championships in program history.
Prior to this year's tournament, BGSU had never finished higher than fourth which was in 2022 during head coach Erin Fahey's second season at the helm.
Notables
- The Falcons had the second-best showing after the first day of competition (+8) among the field. Despite shooting +26 on the second day, BGSU rebounded and carded a +3 as a team on the final day to solidify their second-place showing.
- Addison Kartusch was tied for second (+3) on the leaderboard. She also showed consistency with 39 total pars, the most among all competitors. "She showed a lot of poise and stuck to her process the entire championship," Fahey said.
- Ava O'Sullivan (+4) also notched a top 10 finish by tying for sixth and recorded 10 birdies throughout the competition.
- Sammie Dolce and Macie Elzinga were two of eight golfers to record an eagle during the tournament.
- Dolce was named the MAC Sportswoman of the Year for women's golf at the conclusion of the tournament. "It is a prestigious honor that is voted on by all the student-athletes in the conference," Fahey said. "She is a fantastic representative for us and the MAC."

"I am so proud of the team for their performance this week. We had our goals set high coming into the championship and the team delivered. They came out strong in round 1, battled until the end in round 2 in tough conditions, and then came embracing the opportunity on the final day. They rose to the occasion and played with discipline all day. It was a full team effort."
