Preview: Women's Golf Travels to Iowa City for Diane Thomason Invite
IOWA CITY, Iowa. – The BGSU women's golf team is back in action this week (Sep. 29-30) after a short break, as they travel to Iowa City, Iowa for the Diane Thomason Invite hosted by the University of Iowa. The tournament will be held at Finkbine Golf Course, a par 72 course with a total yardage of 6,437.
Last season, the Falcons placed 10th at the Diane Thomason, shooting a 941 as a team. Ava O'Sullivan finished with the best score for the Falcons last season, shooting a 79-73-80-232(+16).
The Falcons traveled to Iowa City for their practice round at 12 pm on Sunday, and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 am EST on Monday. The tournament will follow traditional stroke play rules, with the first 36 holes being played on Monday, followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.

The Lineup
The Falcons are coming into the Diane Thomason Invite after two impressive showings to begin their fall season. First, the Falcons were victorious in Kewadin, Mich. at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational. At the A-Ga-Ming, the team shot a program best 873 and Addison Kartusch shot a 205, winning the tournament individually. Following the A-Ga-Ming, the Falcons had another strong showing at the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State. At the Redbird, the Falcons shot an 899 and finished fourth in the field.
Looking ahead, the BGSU women's golf team will enjoy a couple of weekends off before they close out their fall lineup of tournaments in Manhattan, Kan. for the Powercat Invitational hosted by Kansas State.
