BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Gymnastics head coach Brittney Emmons has announced the addition of five student-athletes to the program for the upcoming 2026 season. The incoming class features four freshmen and one transfer, each bringing a unique background of experience and success at the high school and club levels.

"I am excited to welcome these athletes to the BGSU Gymnastics program," said Emmons. "Not only do they respect the core values we are building for this program but will continue to push themselves to be the best student-athletes to represent BGSU. Each of these athletes brings something unique to the table and they are eager to get to campus this fall."

Below is a closer look at the newest members of the BGSU Gymnastics program:

Addie Tandeski
Fargo, N.D. | Fargo Davies High School | American Gold Gymnastics
Tandeski was a three-time Level 10 Nationals qualifier (2023-25) and captured the 2025 North Dakota State Championship All-Around title. She competed with American Gold Gymnastics and also ran track & field at Fargo Davies High School.

"Addie has a consistent and steady presence about her that we are eager to have be part of the program," Emmons said. "Watching her at Developmental Nationals this past year, you could see that she relied on her training and just went out there to do her gymnastics."

Natasha Lopez
Brampton, Ontario | Mississauga Secondary School | Team Ontario
Lopez is a six-time Team Ontario member who posted 14 top three finishes during the 2025 season, including multiple wins on bars and in the All-Around. She earned first-team honors at both the National and Eastern Championships over the past two seasons and graduated as an Ontario Scholar with a 4.0 GPA.

"Natasha is an athlete that took advantage of the opportunity to focus on building confidence in her gymnastics after high school," Emmons said. "You can see the passion and heart she puts into her training, and I'm excited for some big gymnastics from her this year."

Johanna Sasser
Buford, Ga. | Buford High School | Gymnastix Training Center
Sasser helped lead Buford High School to four straight state championships (2021-24) and was the 2025 Georgia state champion in the All-Around, vault, and bars. A team captain in both 2024 and 2025, she trained at Gymnastix Training Center.

"Johanna is someone that we saw continue to progress throughout this past competition season," Emmons said. "She has a drive, determination, and a fun-spirited personality that we look forward to having in the gym every day."

Ashlynd Werner
Virginia Beach, Va. | Landstown High School | Evolution Gymnastics Academy
Werner qualified for the 2025 Women's Development Program Level 10 Nationals as a bars specialist after placing fourth on bars and eighth in the All-Around at the Region 7 Championships. She also qualified to Regionals in 2023 and 2024.

"Ashlynd, like Natasha, used her gap year to continue developing her gymnastics," Emmons said.  "She is someone that will captivate you with not only her gymnastics, but with her enthusiasm and passion in and out of a competition setting."

Taylor Wurtz
Lake Worth, Fla. | Park Vista Community HS | American Twisters | New Hampshire Transfer

Wurtz joins the Falcons as a transfer after spending the 2025 season at the University of New Hampshire. A standout for American Twisters Gymnastics, she was a 2024 national qualifier and placed fifth in the All-Around at the Florida USAG and fourth in the Region 8 Championship.

"As a transfer, Taylor has insight on what it takes to be a collegiate gymnast on a daily basis," Emmons said. "I believe that perspective and opportunity is something that brings great value to our program and can give her confidence to feel ready to step into a new gym."
