BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Gymnastics is excited to announce the hiring of Ciera Martin as an assistant coach, as announced by Head Coach Brittney Emmons.
Martin brings with her an impressive gymnastics background, both as a standout athlete and a dedicated coach, with experience that will contribute greatly to the program's continued success.
"I am very excited to welcome Ciera to the BGSU Gymnastics family," said Emmons. "Her background in the sport has provided her the ability to work with some very technical coaches, and I am excited for her to bring that into this program. She is someone that possesses a strong passion for gymnastics and developing each student-athlete to the best of their abilities."
Before coming to BGSU, Martin served as the Gymnastics Director of Operations at Southern Utah University and was the Executive Director of the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference. Martin also served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Boise State.
"I am truly so grateful to be a part of Bowling Green's gymnastics program and want to thank Brittney Emmons and Derek van der Merwe for the opportunity," said Martin. "I look forward to working with the student-athletes, athletic department, and community, and continuing to bring growth to the BGSU gymnastics program with my coaching and athlete experience. I am eager to get started, build relationships, and be a part of the BGSU Gymnastics Family. Ay Ziggy!"
Martin received a bachelor of arts in communications in 2015 from Boise State University and a master of communications from Southern Utah University in 2022. Martin has also worked outside college athletics, including most recently as a national recruiter for Apex Systems.
