BGSU Gymnastics Recognized by WCGA for Academic Excellence in 2025

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team was one of 62 teams in the country to earn recognition by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) by posting a team grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2023-24 academic year.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team was one of 78 teams in the country to earn recognition by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) by posting a team grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2024-25 academic year.

Bowling Green earned a 3.6096 team grade point average and had 15 student-athletes with a 3.50 GPA or better. BGSU student-athletes that earned WCGA Scholastic All-America status are Megan Bingham, Kaylie Bokey, Charniya Brown, Elise Brzoska, Emily Castiglia, Madison Coburn, Faye Dubin, Megan Dzialo, Emily Gianfrancesco, Kennady Kreinbrink, Baylie Lawrence, Brooke McNamara, Teegan Milligan, Nadia Parente and Kayla Shaw.

Bingham, Bokey, Brzoska, Dzialo, Kreinbrink and Milligan sported a 4.0 GPA to lead the way for the Falcons.

Overall, 78 programs averaged a 3.5 or higher GPA, with 1,218 individuals earning that mark, which is the most ever recorded (since 2008 when statistics were monitored). An impressive 302 student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA, another new record since 2008. The average GPA across all reported student-athletes was 3.6558, which is the highest on recorded.

"Women's collegiate gymnasts embody everything that is great about collegiate athletics," said Casey Jo MacPherson, Chair of the WCGA Board of Directors. "Their ability to excel in the classroom while performing at the highest levels of athletic competition is nothing short of inspiring. These young women are the epitome of the student-athlete ideal, demonstrating discipline, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in all they do. We are proud to honor these outstanding teams and individuals for their continued efforts and success in the classroom!"
