BGSU Gymnastics Recognized by WCGA for Academic Excellence in 2024

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team was one of 62 teams in the country to earn recognition by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) by posting a team grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2023-24 academic year.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team was one of 62 teams in the country to earn recognition by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) by posting a team grade point average of 3.50 or better for the 2023-24 academic year.

Bowling Green earned a 3.500 team grade point average and had 14 student-athletes with a 3.50 GPA or better. BGSU student-athletes that earned WCGA Scholastic All-America status are Lauren Bannister, Megan Bingham, Lexi Bornhorn, Emily Castiglia, Megan Decious, Faye Dubin, Megan Dzialo, Kennady Kreinbrink, Baylie Lawrence, Teegan Milligan, Courtney Morrison, Starr Ogilvie, Nadia Parente and Keira Thornton.

Bingham and Kreinbrink sported a 4.0 GPA to lead the way for the Falcons.

Overall, 62 programs averaged a 3.5 or higher GPA, with 1,159 individuals earning that mark, which is the most ever recorded (since 2008 when statistics were monitored). An impressive 292 student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA, another new record since 2008. . The average GPA across all reported student-athletes was 3.6092, which is the 2nd highest recorded.

"With another year in the books, our student-athletes continue to raise the bar in the classroom in addition to on the competition floor, and I am always amazed at their ability to manage everything on their plate," said WCGA Board Chair Casey Jo MacPherson. "Their impressive academic achievements are a testament to their hard work, dedication, and steadfast commitment to succeeding in all aspects of their lives."
