Falcons Head To No. 8 Michigan State on Sunday for Final Regular Season Meet

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio –  The Bowling Green gymnastics team concludes the regular season on Sunday when the Falcons head to East Lansing to face Michigan State. The meet will start at 2 p.m. inside Jenison Field House.

IN THE RANKINGS 
• Bowling Green is ranked No. 57 in the nation per Road to Nationals. MSU comes in at No. 8.
• Bowling Green is ranked No. 53 on vault, No. 55 on bars, No. 59 on floor and No. 66 on beam.
• MSU is No. 4 on vault, No. 8 on bars, No. 15 on floor and No. 16 on beam.

ALL-TIME SERIES 
• The Falcons are 4-19 all-time against Michigan State. BGSU last met MSU in East Lansing last year, which was the first meeting since the Falcons won at Michigan State in 2018.
• The last meeting in 2023 the Falcons registered the program's second Top-5 team performance over a three-day span, but it wasn't enough as Michigan State broke its program record for team scoring with a 198.225. BGSU's 196.200 was the fourth-best team score in program history. 
Katrina Mendez Abolnik had a career-high 9.900 on vault, which is tied for No. 7 all-time at BGSU the last time these teams met. 

MICHIGAN STATE
• MSU is 13-3 on the year and coming off a second-place finish at a quad-meet at then-No. 14 Alabama last weekend.
• Michigan State topped the Tide and then-No. 24 North Carolina, while then-No. 6 Cal won the event over the Spartans by a narrow margin, 197.200-197.150.

LAST WEEK 
• At NIU last weekend Megan Bingham won the the All-Around for the second week in a row after tying her PR (39.075). 
Katrina Mendez Abolnik won the vault (9.875) and Kayla Shaw won the floor (9.800) to pace BGSU in the event.
