BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – On Fri., September 5, 2025, student-athletes from the Bowling Green State University Gymnastics, Softball, and Swim & Dive teams participated in a hands-on car maintenance workshop as part of the Athletics Life Design Program.
The event focused on equipping student-athletes with valuable life skills beyond the gym, field, and pool. Professional mechanics from Thayer Honda and Thayer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) led interactive demonstrations on how to check vehicle fluids, monitor tire pressure, and safely change a tire.
"This workshop was an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to gain real-world skills that they'll use well beyond their college careers," said Bryan Mestre, Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development. "We're grateful to Thayer Honda and Thayer CDJR for their time and support."
The BGSU Athletics Life Design Program continues to provide meaningful experiences that prepare student-athletes for success beyond sports, fostering confidence, independence, and practical knowledge for everyday life.
