Falcons Land 13 on Academic All-MAC Team
The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team was well-represented when the Mid-American Conference office announced the Academic All-MAC Team on Thursday afternoon (Dec. 5). The Falcons had 13 student-athletes named to the team.
BGSU's lengthy list of honorees includes Lizzie Bultynck, Emme Butera, Lexi Czerwien, Christine Erdman, Jaden Frigerio, Brynn Gardner, Isabelle Gilmore, Taylor Green, Emily Hollar, Emma Stransky, Alaina Uncapher, Madison Vukas and Lexi White.
Frigerio and Gilmore each were named to the team for the third consecutive season, while Czerwien, Gardner and Vukas each earned the honor for the second year in a row.
A total of 140 student-athletes were named to the team. Bowling Green's total of 13 honorees was tied for the fourth highest among MAC schools.
A total of four Falcons -- Czerwien, Gilmore, Green and Stransky -- maintain a perfect 4.000 cumulative grade-point average. Akron was the only other school with as many as four student-athletes with a 4.000 GPA on the squad.
The Academic All-MAC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who have excelled in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. Freshmen are not eligible for the award.
BGSU finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 7-7-4, and the Falcons went 4-4-3 in MAC play to earn the sixth seed for the conference tournament. BG advanced to the MAC Tournament for the eighth consecutive season, the longest current streak among conference schools.
