Five Falcons Named to CSC Academic All-District® Team

Five members of the Bowling Green State University softball team have been named to the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Peyton Dolejs, Marti Henkel, Mackenzie Krafcik, Taylor Turner and Reagan Williamson all were named to the team.

Dolejs and Williamson earned the honor for the second-straight season.

Dolejs, a senior, was the lone Falcon to play in all 44 games in 2024. She started all 44 of those contests in center field, and hit a team-leading .293 on the year. Dolejs led the Falcons in at-bats (133), hits (39), runs (14 - tied for team lead) and doubles (eight), and ranked second in RBI (18), extra-base hits (10), slugging pct. (.391) and sac bunts (four). In the field, she had a sparkling .988 fielding percentage, with just one error in 80 chances. Dolejs batted. .333 in MAC play, with team-high totals of 81 at-bats, 10 runs, 27 hits, six doubles, 10 RBI and 38 total bases. She led the Falcons with a .469 slugging percentage in league play, and ranked second on the team with a .353 OBP. Dolejs played in a total of 187 games as a Falcon, starting 172. She finished her BGSU career with a .293 batting average and totals of 147 hits, 26 doubles, eight triples, six homers and 69 RBI. She is tied for 10th on the school's career triples list.

In the classroom, Dolejs was an applied mathematics major at BGSU, specializing in actuarial science. She graduated with a 3.621 cumulative grade-point average.

Henkel, a sophomore, played in 36 of BGSU's 44 games, making 30 starts. She started 20 games at catcher, nine at first base and one at the designated-player spot, and hit. 200 on the season, with her 15 hits including three doubles. Henkel drew 14 walks to tie for third on the team, and had an on-base pct. of .348. She had nine RBI to deadlock for fourth on the Falcons. In MAC play, Henkel saw action in 24 of the 26 MAC games, starting 19. Henkel has hit .210 in her two years at BGSU, with 13 RBI and an on-base percentage of .347 in that time.

In the classroom, Henkel has a cumulative GPA of 4.000 as a marketing major.

Krafcik, also a sophomore, pitched in 16 games to rank third on the team. She was second on the squad with 12 starts in the circle, and also finished second on the Falcons with three complete games. She fired BGSU's lone complete-game shutout on the year, with a one-hitter in a run-rule win over Detroit Mercy. On the year, she had a deceiving record of 2-10 and an ERA of 6.09, throwing 58 2/3 innings to rank second on the Falcons in that category. In MAC play, Krafcik led the Falcon pitching staff in both starts, with 10, and innings pitched (42 1/3). In her two years with the Falcons to date, Krafcik has pitched in 35 games, making 15 starts, and has four complete games and one save.

Krafcik, a finance major at BGSU, has a cumulative GPA of 3.765.

In her lone season with the Falcons, Turner pitched in 28 games on the season, starting 13. She led BGSU hurlers in both categories, along with wins, complete games (four), saves (one), innings pitched (77 1/3), strikeouts (36) and opponent batting average (.313). Turner, a transfer from Miami University, had a record of 3-11 with one save and an ERA of 5.88 in 2024. In MAC play, she had a team-low 5.47 ERA and a 2-6 record. Turner pitched in 16 of the Falcons' 26 MAC games, with one complete game among her six starts. Turner pitched in a total of 79 career games, and had 13 wins and three saves in 201 career innings pitched.

Turner, an individualized studies major, had a cumulative GPA of 3.903.

Williamson played in 42 games, making 41 starts on the year to rank second on the team (trailing only fellow senior Dolejs) in both categories. She made 40 starts at the designated-player spot, with a start behind the plate on Senior Day. Williamson batted .284, good for third on the team, and led the Falcons with a .491 slugging pct. She also paced BGSU in homers (six), RBI (19), total bases (57), walks (19) and extra-base hits (12), while ranking second on the club in at-bats (116), hits (33), doubles (six) and on-base pct. (.382). In MAC games, she hit .242 with an on-base pct. of 342 and a slugging pct. of .424. Williamson had a team-leading three dingers in conference play, and also led the team in doubles while ranking second in both walks and RBI. She finished her BGSU career ranked fifth in school history in walks, with 70, and she is also ranked among BG's top-20 in both homers (15, tie-13th) and slugging pct. (.421, 19th). She played in 163 career games and had 68 RBI and a fielding pct. of 990 in addition to her aforementioned stats.

Williamson, an exercise science major at BGSU, graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.728.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 18. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links near the top of this page.
