Thank You

On Saturday afternoon (April 27), the Bowling Green softball team celebrated Senior Day, with five members of the Falcon family recognized prior to the first game. While the Falcon fans thanked them prior to their 11-3 victory over Northern Illinois at Meserve Field that day, those seniors -- Lexi Carver, Makailah Dees, Peyton Dolejs, Taylor Turner and Reagan Williamson -- had many people they wanted to thank as well...

LEXI CARVER
"I first want to thank my coaches and teammates for always supporting me and believing in me during my time at BG. I also want to thank Peyton Dolejs for being my best friend since I arrived in BG. You have been my rock, and I am so thankful for you. Mom, thank you for showing me what hard work looks like and being with me every step of the way of this crazy journey, I couldn't have done any of this without you. To my siblings and grandparents, thank you for traveling across the country all these years to watch my games. I can't even put into words how much your support has meant to me; I am so grateful for you all. Lastly, I want to thank my dad. Though you are no longer with us your passion and competitiveness will forever live through me. Thank you for introducing me to the sport I love and the countless hours you spent coaching and pushing me to be my best. I am forever grateful for our memories, and I couldn't have done it without you."

MAKAILAH DEES
"I want to thank BG for being my second home, and BGSU softball for giving me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of playing at the Division-I level. I also want to thank my parents and family for the time and dedication they put into every season growing up within this sport. One of my favorite memories is getting the chance to play on the same team with my sister, Sammy, for two years. Thank you!"

PEYTON DOLEJS
"I want to take some time to thank the people that have helped me get here. I want to thank Lexi Carver for being the best friend I could ever ask for and I am thankful to be able to leave with you by my side. I want to thank all my past and current coaches for always having faith in me and always giving me the chance to play the sport that I love. My family has been my why, and their endless support is truly meaningful. I want to thank my parents because I couldn't be here without their endless contributions from the beginning. Whether it was travel ball, high school ball, or now college ball I knew that you would always be there for me and will continue to be there for me. Lastly, I want to thank the little girl that started playing this game and has given me the chance to make so many friendships and have the experience of a lifetime. Peace out Pookies!"

TAYLOR TURNER

REAGAN WILLIAMSON
"I want to say thank you to my parents, Damon and Kelly Williamson, for the endless support they have given me over my career. Through all the highs and the lows, they have always been in my corner and pushed me to be the best that I could be. I also want to thank Jackie Cornelius for not only being my catching coach, but also a life mentor for me. Thank you to Shannon Wullenweber for spending countless hours with me in the cage to make me the best hitter I could be. Lastly, thank you to all of my teammates, coaches, and support staff for everything they have done for me and the rest of the team. I could not do any of this without them!"
