No Fewer Than 19 (Nineteen!) Falcons Earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BGSU Strategic Communications) — Again this year, a veritable plethora of Bowling Green State University softball student-athletes have been recognized for their success in the classroom as well as on the field. No fewer than 19 Falcons have been named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Falcons' total of 19 student-athletes honored this year is believed to be the highest in school history.
The lengthy list includes Scarlet Anderson, Taylor Behrendt, Ashley Chevalier, Delaney Davis, Mackenna Fry, Kyra Henney, Katie Hutter, Cameron Kaufman, Mackenzie Krafcik, Addie Martin, Hanna Massaro, Kendall Mathews, Ava McKee, Ellie Price, Wynnie Reid, Alyvia Roth, Peyton Steffes, Reghan Stephany and Madi Young.
Seniors Reid and Young each earned the honor for the fourth consecutive season.
Chevalier, Davis, Fry, Hutter, Krafcik and Price each were recognized for the third-straight year, while Anderson, Kaufman, Martin, Roth and Steffes all earned the accolade for the second time.
Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors are bestowed upon collegiate student-athletes at all levels (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and USCAA and Junior College). The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have maintained a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year.
The NFCA will announce the highest team GPAs in the nation, recognizing the top-10 Academic teams in each division, this fall.
The NFCA's announcement continues a year of tremendous success for the Falcon softball program in the classroom. Earlier this summer, a total of nine Falcons were named to the Academic All-MAC Team, and five student-athletes were chosen to the Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
On the diamond, the 2025 Falcons surpassed the win total for the previous two seasons combined. BGSU went 16-36 on the year, after going a combined 15-79 in the 2023 and '24 campaigns.
BGSU had four seniors on the 2025 roster, and only one of those four saw action after March 8.
At the plate, players with eligibility remaining combined for...
• 1,339 of the team's 1,362 at-bats (98.3%);
• 212 of the 219 runs scored (96.8%);
• 197 of the Falcons' 198 RBI (99.5%); and
• 360 of the 361 hits (99.7%).
In the circle, players with eligibility remaining combined to pitch 316 1/3 of the 328 1/3 total innings (96.3%), including all 167 2/3 innings in Mid-American Conference play.
