Nogay Named to All-MAC Second Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio (BGSU Strategic Communications) – Bowling Green State University softball standout Aaralyn Nogay has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference Team. Nogay, a freshman outfielder, was named to the All-MAC Second Team and also was selected to the MAC's All-Freshman Team.

The all-league squad, along with the specialty award winners, was announced on Tuesday afternoon (May 7) by the conference office.

Nogay, a native of New Castle, Pa. (Neshannock),played in 36 of the Falcons' 44 games in 2024, making 30 starts. She moved into the starting lineup for good just before MAC play began, and started 28 of the final 31 contests of the season.

Nogay hit .292 in her first season with the Falcons, ranking second on the team in that category. She led the Falcons in stolen bases, going a perfect 9-for-9 on the year, as well as on-base percentage (.413), and finished second in walks (17). Nogay had 32 total bases, 13 runs scored and a slugging pct. of .360 to rank third on the team in all three categories.

In MAC play, Nogay hit a team-leading .338, and also paced the Falcons in walks (13), on-base pct. (.463) and stolen bases (6-for-6). The team's leadoff hitter for nearly all of the conference schedule, she still had seven RBI in league play to tie for third on teh team.

Nogay also solidified the Falcons' defense, with just two errors in 76 total chances on the season, and she had four outfield assists. At the plate, her total of seven multiple-hit games ranked her second on the team, and she had an 11-game reached-base streak which tied for BGSU's longest in 2024.
