PRELIM RESULTS CLEVELAND, Ohio –

The Falcons continued to make progress during Day 2 at Cleveland State's Magnus Cup Invitational, as they moved up to sixth place after the conclusion of the events from the session at Busbey Natatorium.

Like on Day 1, the preliminaries took place in the morning, and the top 40 in each event qualified for the A, B, C and D finals, respectfully, in the evening based on their prelim times. Ten swimmers participated in each event, as the Busbey Natatorium is a 10-lane pool.

BGSU started off the finals with a fifth-place finish in the 200-medley relay (1:42.57) with the likes of Emily McNicol, Joanna Robertson, Karina Solera and Samia Becdach.

Ava Vial, the only Falcon swimmer to qualify for an A final during the second day, notched sixth in the 400 IM with a mark of 4:24.94, while Madison Bond took fourth in the B final (14th overall) in the same event (4:33.12).

Four Falcons qualified for the B final in the 100 butterfly, as Solera (55.53) finished in second, Grace Bodrock (56.44) in fifth, Fabiana D'Ambrogio (56.70) in sixth and Riley McNichols (56.85) in seventh.

Solera's time is now the seventh-fastest in BGSU history and best mark since Anna Eriksson's 55.05 at the 2022 MAC Championships.

The trio of Vial (1:04.51), Robertson (1:05.42) and Grace Perlberg (1:05.58) took third, seventh and eighth, respectfully, in the B final of the 100 breaststroke, while the duo of McNicol (55.64) and Alexandra Johnson (56.96) placed second and ninth, respectfully, in the 100 backstroke.

Bodrock, Solera, Robertson and Ashley Fryer capped off the swimming events with an 11th-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay (7:43.99).

Elise Snyder notched third in the one-meter dive (244.75) after taking seventh in the three-meter event on Thursday.
